Moco Safety Tips

Updated as of November 2, 2026

This page explains MocoSpace's safety rules, available protections, reporting procedures, and account enforcement practices. MocoSpace ("Moco") is a social networking service, not a dating or matchmaking service. See our Terms of Service, Content and Conduct Policy, and Privacy Policy for related requirements.

What conduct does Moco prohibit?

Moco prohibits threats, violence, sexual assault and other nonconsensual sexual conduct, stalking, harassment, bullying, hate-based abuse, impersonation, fraud, financial scams, extortion, sextortion, trafficking, and exploitation of minors. Posting or distributing nonconsensual intimate images or videos, including AI-generated or digitally altered intimate imagery, is prohibited. Users may not use Moco to threaten another person's safety, violate their privacy, or encourage unlawful conduct. Sexual conduct without another person's consent violates this policy and may result in criminal or civil liability. Refer to our Content and Conduct Policy for further rules.

What safety measures are available on Moco?

Users can block other members, report accounts, messages, or content, and restrict who may contact them using available account controls. Moco uses automated systems to detect certain inappropriate images and may temporarily suspend or permanently ban accounts for violations. These measures cannot detect or prevent every harmful interaction. Blocking, reporting, and privacy controls do not guarantee that another person cannot retain or redistribute material already received.

Who may use Moco, and does Moco verify age or identity?

Moco is restricted to adults age 18 or older. During registration, we rely on a user's self-reported date of birth; we do not independently verify a user's age through identification documents or third-party age-verification services. We do not verify members' identities or perform criminal background checks, including in special circumstances. Users may misrepresent their identity, age, or background. We may remove accounts that we believe belong to underage users. Registered sex offenders are prohibited from using the Service under our Terms of Service; we do not routinely screen members against sex-offender registries.

How can I report misconduct, safety concerns, or an underage account?

Use the reporting options available on the website or app to report accounts, messages, or content, or email support@corp.mocospace.com. Describe the concern and include the relevant username, message or content location, and other details that can help us locate it. People without Moco accounts can also contact us by email. Do not submit knowingly false reports or reports made for malicious, discriminatory, or other illegitimate reasons; abusing the reporting process may lead to account action. If you face immediate danger, contact local emergency services rather than relying on a Moco report.

How do I request removal of nonconsensual intimate images or videos?

You or an authorized representative may request removal of an intimate image or video depicting you that was shared without your consent, including qualifying digitally altered or AI-generated material, by emailing support@corp.mocospace.com. You do not need a Moco account.

Your written request must include: (1) your physical or electronic signature, or that of your authorized representative; (2) information reasonably sufficient to identify and locate the image or video, such as a link, account name, or message details; (3) a brief statement explaining your good-faith belief that the image or video was shared without consent, including relevant circumstances; and (4) contact information so we can respond. If submitting for another person, explain your authority to act.

For a valid request covered by the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act, Moco will remove the reported material as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after receiving the valid request. We also make reasonable efforts, including automated duplicate detection, to identify and remove known identical copies within that period. You need not locate every copy yourself. Other applicable reporting and removal rights remain available.

How does Moco respond to misconduct reports?

We review reports and available information and may remove content, warn a member, limit account functionality, temporarily suspend an account, or permanently ban it. The action depends on factors such as the seriousness and credibility of the reported conduct, risk to others, repeated violations, and available evidence. Particularly serious violations, including threats of violence, sexual exploitation, and significant fraud or abuse, may result in immediate suspension or a permanent ban. We may restrict accounts during an investigation when warranted. We do not guarantee a particular response or resolution to every report and may limit information shared with reporters or accused members to protect privacy, safety, investigations, and security.

Can I appeal a suspension or ban?

Yes. Email support@corp.mocospace.com with your username and a brief explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect. Moco staff review appeals and may uphold, modify, or reverse an enforcement action. We may be unable to provide confidential details about other members, security measures, or ongoing investigations.

Does Moco notify other users when someone is reported or banned?

Moco does not routinely notify a reported member's friends or message contacts when a report is received or an account is suspended or banned. We may provide notices concerning safety-related enforcement actions when appropriate and permitted by law. Information about reports and affected accounts is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

How can I protect myself from scams and unsafe interactions?

Do not share passwords, financial account information, identification documents, or other sensitive personal information with strangers. Do not send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or other valuables to people you know only through Moco. Be cautious of impersonation, requests to move conversations off-platform, unexpected links, threats, and pressure to share intimate images. Moco discourages meeting in person someone you know only online. If you nevertheless choose to meet, use a public place, tell a trusted person where you will be, and arrange your own transportation. Consider blocking and reporting anyone who makes you uncomfortable or pressures you.

How can I report suspected child sexual exploitation?

Report suspected exploitation of minors, child sexual abuse material, grooming, or accounts belonging to minors using Moco's reporting tools or support@corp.mocospace.com. Do not download, forward, or redistribute suspected illegal images as part of a report. Moco addresses legally reportable content in accordance with applicable law, including required reports to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Where can I find additional safety resources?

For online safety and scam prevention, visit ConnectSafely and FTC Consumer Advice. For sexual assault support, visit RAINN; for domestic violence support, visit National Domestic Violence Hotline. Colorado users may also find victim assistance information through the Colorado Attorney General's Online Dating Safety resources. These organizations are independent of Moco. If there is an immediate emergency, call your local emergency number.
